Contact Lens Alert

Circle contact lenses are soft lenses that make the iris appear larger and are available widely on the Internet in many different iris configurations such as those seen worn by performers and theatrical entertainers. These lenses are not FDA approved lenses and the consumer/patient should be alerted to the potential hazards and health issues regarding wearing these types of lenses.  For more information, please review the article from the American Academy of Ophthalmology..

The Contact Lens Fitting

  • A comprehensive eye exam is required within one year of contact lens fitting to ensure continued good and proper eye health.
  • At the contact lens fitting you will be examined to see if you are a contact lens candidate. This examination includes the measurement of the corneal curvature, health assessment of the eye and an in-office fitting with diagnostic lenses. Proper insertion, removal and care of lenses are also demonstrated.
  • The contact lens fitting and contact lenses are usually NOT covered by insurance.

The Contact Lens Specialist at each location works with your doctor to ensure the best choice of lenses for your unique needs.
