Bio
Dr. Liles is a native Oklahoman who attended the Deer Creek School System and graduated from the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics. After graduating summa cum laude in Chemical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma, he earned both his Doctor of Medicine and Master of Public Health degrees at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, graduating with highest honors.
He completed his residency and fellowship training at the world-renowned Kellogg Eye Center at the University of Michigan, which is consistently ranked in the top eight ophthalmology programs in the nation. Dr. Liles served on faculty at the Kellogg Eye Center for five years before returning to Oklahoma to be closer to family.
Dr. Liles has a strong passion for teaching and is excited to continue educating residents and fellows at the Dean McGee Eye Institute while providing care for children with eye disease and adults with strabismus. He teaches adjustable suture surgery at the annual American Academy of Ophthalmology meeting and is developing a strabismus surgical video library for the education of medical students, residents, and fellows.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Liles enjoys 3D printing, resistance training, long-distance running, and soccer. He loves skiing and doing motorsports with his three children, Lilianne, Coralee, and Liam. He is fluent in French, conversational in Spanish, and has studied eight additional languages as a hobby. His wife, Amber, is an interventional radiologist practicing at INTEGRIS. Dr. Liles finds his greatest professional fulfillment in seeing patients achieve straight eyes and confident smiles following strabismus surgery.
