Biography:

Dr. Fairless was born and raised in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. She graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College with a major in neuroscience and a minor in Native American studies. She went on to earn her medical degree from Yale University. She returned home to Oklahoma to complete her residency in ophthalmology at the University of Oklahoma’s Dean McGee Eye Institute where she served as chief resident and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She completed her training with a fellowship in medical retina at the University of Utah’s Moran Eye Center. Afterwards she joined the faculty at Dean McGee Eye Institute.

Dr. Fairless’ practice focuses on comprehensive ophthalmology, including cataract surgery, and medical treatment of vitreoretinal diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, retinal vascular occlusions, and inherited retinal disease.

As a proud member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, Dr. Fairless is passionate about addressing health disparities facing Native Americans and works with several tribal eye clinics throughout the state. In her free time, she enjoys arts and crafts, DIY projects, and visiting national parks.
